About

Hanoi Starlight Boutique Hotel

Hanoi Starlight Boutique Hotel sits on Hang Ga Street in the heart of the Old Quarter, a short walk from Hoan Kiem Lake and the night market. The 3-star property is a practical base for exploring the city's chaotic charm, with the Temple of Literature about 1.3 km away.

Guests consistently highlight the helpful, responsive staff and the surprisingly peaceful rooms—especially those facing the interior courtyard. The hotel offers a cooked breakfast, luggage storage (useful for overnight Halong Bay trips), and express check-in/out.

The 650 guest reviews average 8.4, with staff scoring 9.3, the highest category. Value sits at 8.1, while a lower-scored category (7.1) suggests some inconsistency in facilities or experience.

Rooms range from windowless standards to deluxe balconies with city views. Family connecting rooms and triples cater to groups, and all include air conditioning, minibars, and flat-screen TVs.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Exceptional staff — Rated 9.3, the highest category, and repeatedly praised for going above and beyond—from pre-arrival emails to airport farewells.
  • Central Old Quarter location — Minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake, the night market, and countless restaurants and bars. Ideal for first-time Hanoi visitors.
  • Quiet interior rooms — Several guests specifically valued the internal rooms for their darkness and silence—a rare retreat from Hanoi's street noise.
  • Good value for money — With breakfast included and clean, comfortable rooms, guests often feel the price is fair—even comparative to pricier options.
–

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Facilities may not match 3-star expectations — One guest felt the amenities fell short of the 3-star rating, and a lower-scored category (7.1) hints at inconsistency.
  • Street-facing rooms can be noisy — While interior rooms are quiet, those overlooking the street pick up Hanoi's constant bustle—a trade-off for a city view.
  • Narrow check-in window — Check-in is only open from 13:30 to 14:00, so early arrivals need a plan—though the staff is responsive to email inquiry.
  • No pets allowed — Travelers with animals will need to look elsewhere, as the hotel enforces a strict no-pet policy.

“The hotel manager and staff were extremely helpful from before check-in until they saw us off to the airport. Very responsive to emails and gave good advice about Hanoi taxis. Very clean and cozy room with tasteful decor. Location is central, only a couple minutes' walk to the lake. Great cooked breakfast. Would recommend to anyone.
